AML & Verification Policy | Bitguruz Casino

Our AML and Verification Policy

We hold licence ALSI-202505027-FI2, issued by the Anjouan authority, and that licence obliges us to know who plays on our platform and where their money comes from. This page sets out, in plain language, what we verify, when we verify it and what happens if verification is not completed.

Our AML Commitment

Money laundering and the financing of terrorism are criminal offences, and we treat our obligations under the anti-money-laundering framework of our Anjouan licence with the seriousness they demand. Every control described on this page exists to keep Bitguruz Casino free of illicit funds and to protect honest players.

We apply a risk-based approach. That means we do not treat every account identically; we concentrate enhanced checks on activity that carries a higher risk, such as large deposits, unusual betting patterns or withdrawals that do not match a player's established profile.

When We Verify You

We verify identity at three points: at registration, where we collect and confirm your basic details; at your first withdrawal, where full KYC applies; and at any threshold or trigger that our monitoring systems flag. You can play and deposit before full verification, but no withdrawal leaves our platform until your identity is confirmed.

Each check asks only for what the licence requires, and nothing more.

  • Government-issued photo ID (passport, driver licence or national ID card), valid and legible on all four corners
  • Proof of address dated within the last 3 months (utility bill, bank statement or official government correspondence)
  • Proof of payment method ownership: card photo with middle digits covered, or a screenshot of your e-wallet or crypto wallet showing your name or address

How Verification Works

Step by step

Files travel over an encrypted connection and are stored on access-restricted servers. Only authorised compliance staff can open them, and we never share verification documents with third parties except where the law compels us.

  • 1. Open the verification section of your account and select the document type
  • 2. Photograph or scan the document; all four corners, the full document and the MRZ strip where present must be visible
  • 3. Upload the file and submit it; no email attachments are needed
  • 4. Our compliance team reviews it within 48 hours
  • 5. You receive the result by email and see the status update in your account

Source of Funds Requests

For the large majority of players, source of funds never comes up. We ask for it when deposit volumes or cumulative winnings reach a level where our licence obliges us to confirm the money gambled is lawfully earned.

A typical request covers payslips, bank statements, a tax return, a dividend or sale statement, or evidence of an inheritance. We do not judge how much you earn; we only need to connect the funds to a legitimate origin. The earlier you respond, the sooner any held withdrawal is released.

Deposit and Withdrawal Checks

Our systems screen every deposit and withdrawal against risk indicators: structuring just under thresholds, rapid deposit-to-withdrawal cycling, third-party payments and patterns inconsistent with normal play. Automated flags are reviewed by a human analyst before any account decision is made.

Withdrawals go back by the same method used for deposit wherever that method supports it. Minimum withdrawal is 30 AUD, the daily cap is 7,500 AUD and the weekly cap is 30,000 AUD. We charge no fees of our own; network or provider fees, for example blockchain miner fees, may still apply.

If Verification Fails

Where a document is unclear, expired or does not match your account details, we contact you and give you the chance to submit a correct file. Most failures are simple matters of a cropped edge or glare on a photo, and a second upload resolves them.

If you do not provide the requested documents, or we cannot establish your identity, we suspend withdrawals and may freeze the account. Funds in a frozen account remain yours; we release them to the verified source once identity is confirmed. Where we establish a breach of our terms, for example use of a third party's payment card, the account is closed and remaining balances are handled per our terms. Players from restricted jurisdictions, including the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Spain, cannot hold accounts at all.

How Long We Keep Records

We retain verification documents and transaction records for five years after the closure of an account, as our Anjouan licence requires. Retention protects you as much as us: the records substantiate your identity, your balances and your play history if any dispute arises.

After the retention period ends, documents are securely destroyed. You may request deletion of marketing data at any time, but verification records cannot be erased early, because the same rules that oblige us to collect them oblige us to keep them.

Frequently asked questions

Can I withdraw before I complete verification?

No. Your first withdrawal triggers full KYC, and funds are released only after our compliance team confirms your documents, within up to 48 hours of submission.

Do you accept photos of documents, or only scans?

Clear photos are fine. The document must be fully visible with all four corners, uncropped and unobstructed, with no glare covering key details.

Why was I asked for source of funds?

High deposit volumes or a large win can trigger a licence-based obligation for us to confirm the money has a legitimate origin. A payslip, bank statement or similar evidence is usually enough.

How long do you keep my documents?

Five years after your account closes, as required by our Anjouan licence. After that period we securely destroy them.

What happens to my funds if my account is frozen?

The balance stays yours. Once your identity is verified, we release the funds to the same method used for deposit.
